Pioneer Career Center Baking Program
LHS students enrolled in the Baking Program at the KCKCC Pioneer Career Center are learning how to make a sponge cake. š°
A sponge cake is a light cake made with egg whites, flour, and sugar and sometimes leavened with baking powder.
Students made tres leches cake which is soaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk and whole milk and also baked a jelly roll sponge cake which is filled with whipped cream, jam or icing. YUM!
