Dr. Redelberger named interim superintendent for 2026-27

Dr. Redelberger named interim superintendent for 2026-27
The USD 453 Leavenworth Board of Education has named Dr. Cathy Redelberger as the interim superintendent for the 2026-27 school year. Her appointment takes effect July 1, 2026.
Board President Karen Overbey shared “We are excited to have Dr. Redelberger serve as our interim superintendent for the coming school year. I believe that she will provide the stability our district needs during this transition to keep us focused on student achievement and to ensure the district remains well-positioned for long-term success.”
Dr. Redelberger currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, and will maintain those duties during her interim service. She has worked in Leavenworth since 2011, during which time she served as the Director of Special Education.
Current Superintendent Dr. Kellen Adams announced his move to Piper Unified School District 203 in early April. He will continue to serve Leavenworth USD 453 through June 30.
Naming an interim superintendent allows the district to maintain stability and continuity for the 2026-27 school year while ensuring the Board can take the necessary time to engage stakeholders and identify the best long-term leader for USD 453.
