You will use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access Registration Forms. If you do not already have a parent/guardian PowerSchool account, you will need to set-up an account as a first step.

This process is required for EVERY student attending Leavenworth Public Schools. This enables your child's school to maintain emergency contact information, and secure a variety of required permissions.

Additionally, ALL students will receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch this year, but in order to participate in this program the district needs families to complete the Household Economic Survey information within the enrollment process.

Note: Guardians of new students will visit https://www.usd453.org/families/enroll and select "New K-12 Students" to get started. Pre-K applications can also be found on this web page.

Enrollment steps once your parent PowerSchool account is created:

Step 1: Navigate to the Parent Portal log-in page: https://ps.usd453.org/public/

Step 2: Enter the Username and Password you created and "Sign-In(you should only have one account for all your children). 

Step 3: Find "Forms" on the left navigation, which are tied to your student's records. Complete the information requested from within each tab and save/submit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I create a parent access PowerSchool account?  
A: Visit web site: https://ps.usd453.org/public/    Click on the "Create Account"  Fill in the information requested for a desired username and password, and maintain this information for future log-in's. Enter your student's full name, access ID, and password (access ID and Password are provided to you from your child's school)

Q: How do I add a child to an existing account?  
A: If you have an account, but need to add a child, you will need their Access ID and Access Password, which can be provided from your child's school.

Q: What if I am having technical difficulties and/or require in-person support? 
A:You can visit your child's school Monday thru Friday beginning on July 24 when building secretaries return from summer break.

Q: I am unable to reset my password, now what?  
A: The PowerSchool mobile app does not allow for password resets. Reset your password from a computer web site browser by going to ps.usd453.org .

There are 3 documents you will need to complete enrollment, and they are outlined below. Enrollment Express allows you to upload photos of the documents from a computer or smartphone, but if you do not choose to upload the documents, it will be necessary for you to visit the school and provide the documents. Support staff will be on-site, beginning July 20, to provide scheduled technical assistance and guidance for families.  

Documents Needed

• Student's up-to-date Immunization Compliance Form (MS-Form 121) Shot Records
• Certified copy of student's birth certificate
• Proof of residency (examples below)
• Physical for students 9 years old and younger

Proof of Residency documentation will be validated to ensure students attend the correct school according to their primary residence.

• One current utility bill (must be within the past 30 days)
  • Cable/Internet

  • Landline phone

For students in grades 5-12: You will need to contact your school to schedule an appointment to select classes after you have completed the enrollment process.

Parents of returning students that have used the PowerSchool Parent Portal in the past, you DO NOT need to create a new account. Please reach out to the school your child attended or the district’s PowerSchool Administrator at erin.sullivan@lvpioneers.org or at 913-684-1400.

Parents of returning students that DO NOT have a Parent PowerSchool account, please use the following steps below to get your account set up. You must use a good email address in order to enroll your student in school. 

Set up a PowerSchool account

1. Navigate to the Parent Portal login page in your browser of choice.   

2. Click on the "Create Account" Tab

 3. Click on the blue "Create Account" button

4. Fill in the information requested for your desired username and password. 

5. Enter your student's full name, Access ID, and Password (Access ID and Password provided to you from the student's school)

Parents of returning students that DO have a Parent PowerSchool account please follow the steps below to access enrollment forms. 

1. Navigate to the Parent Portal login page in your browser of choice.   

2. Enter the Username and Password you created and click “Sign In.” (You should only have one account for all of your children).

• Forgot Login: If you do not remember your password, contact the school where your child attends for assistance.

 • Need to add a Child to a Pre-existing account: If you have an account but need to add a child to it, you will need their Access ID and Access Password. If you need assistance, contact the school where your child attends.  

3. Locating Forms 

• Forms are tied to your student's record and can be found under the "Forms" link in the left navigation column of your Parent PowerSchool Account.

4. Once you select the Forms option from your account, the necessary forms for your student's enrollment will appear for you to complete. 

Apply for Nonresident Enrollment (25-26 School Year)

Nonresident Transfer Request Timeline

Nonresident transfer requests for the next school year are subject to the following timeline:

• January 1–June 15: Application for nonresident students available

• May 1: On or before May 1 enrollment capacity will be published

• July 1-15: Review and approval of nonresident student applications

• July 30: Nonresident applicants receive application status update

If approved, the nonresident transfer student typically begins school on the first day of the upcoming school year.

Pre-K Enrollment Eligibility Form

Enrollment applicationIf you are the parent of a Pre-K age student, you must FIRST submit an application to be accepted into the program. If your child IS accepted into the program, only then will you be asked to fill out enrollment through PowerSchool Enrollment Express. 

The Pre-K course is an at risk program that is funded through a grant, and has a specific list of criteria that is used to determine a student's eligibility. For information on how to qualify, please see the Pre-K Information Sheet included on the right hand side of this page. 

If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), then you will skip the separate Pre-K form and enroll through PowerSchool Enrollment Express only. 

SchoolCare:

Families will also receive an email to complete SchoolCare. SchoolCare is a required step in the enrollment process.

This information is the only way for school nurses to provide support to your students and ensure their health, well-being, and safety throughout the school day (e.g. proof of immunizations, allergy information, authorization for medicine distribution, etc).
