About Earl Lawson

  • The Earl Lawson Early Education Center is the home for all Pre-K and Kindergarten students in the Leavenworth school district as of August 2021. The building previously served as an elementary school, but was significantly renovated in 2021 to promote early childhood learning. 

    The school utilizes instructional recesses throughout the year to minimize summer learning loss and gain more 5-day weeks of face-to-face instruction. The recesses are noted on Lawson's Academic Calendar. 

    The space has been specially designed so that every inch is a learning opportunity for students. 

    • 20 classrooms
    • 12 kindergarten classrooms
    • 4 early education classrooms
    • 5 remaining rooms for specials, parents as teachers, etc.
    • 3 indoor play areas
    • 500 student capacity
    • 40 certified staff members on site
