Gifted Education
In Kansas, Special Education provides services to gifted students. State statutes and regulations identify gifted students as individuals with exceptionalities. A potential gifted student will is eligible through a team identification process. Throughout the process, staff, admin, and parents offer input.
Each gifted student should receive individual services appropriate for their unique needs. Staff and parents develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) after identifying a student as gifted. The IEP guides instruction for the needs of the student within the gifted and general education programs.
If you believe your student displays gifted characteristics, please contact your student's teacher and building principal.
