New Elementary School Boundaries Approved for 2020-21 School Year
At the meeting of the Leavenworth Board of Education in June, new elementary school boundaries were approved for implementation the year AFTER next, beginning in August 2020, when Earl M Lawson Elementary goes off-line in preparation for re-design in to the district's Early Childhood Education Center serving all Kindergarten and Pre-K Students (anticipated opening August 2021).

Anticipated Timeline of Grade Level Adjustments 
2019-20 School Year - NO CHANGES to current boundaries, or grade level alignments for upcoming school year.  Intermediate Center anticipated to open March/April 2020, but only 6th grade students (moving over from Richard Warren Middle School) will occupy the new facility complete the year.

2020-21 School Year - Elementary boundary adjustment implemented, due to the closing of Lawson as an elementary school, and Pre-K thru 4th grades distributed to Anthony Elementary; David Brewer Elementary; and Henry Leavenworth Elementary.  5th grade joins 6 grade for entire year at Leavenworth Intermediate Center (grades 7th & 8th remain at Richard Warren Middle School).  Final design and construction to transform Lawson to a Pre-K/K education center.

2021-22 School Year - Lawson opens as Early Childhood Education Center (grades Pre-K and K); Anthony, David Brewer, Henry Leavenworth (grades 1st thru 4th); Leavenworth Intermediate Center (grades 5th & 6th); Richard Warren Middle School (grades 7th & 8th).
