District Teacher of the Year Winners Announced

The Leavenworth Unified School District announced its representatives for the 2019 Kansas Teacher of the Year program during a surprise visit to their respective schools on Thursday afternoon.

The Elementary Teacher of the Year is Lora Crawford, third grade teacher at Anthony Elementary School. USD 453’s Secondary Teacher of the Year is Sharon Kuchinski, social studies teacher at Leavenworth High School.

Kindergarten Roundup for 2018-2019

The district will hold Kindergarten Roundup for incoming Kindergarten students for the 2018-2019 school year on Thursday, April 19, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at each of the district's four elementary schools.

LHS Theatre Needs Your Vote!

Best Monday morning news - LHS Theatre just learned that they are a finalist in the Playbill #seizethedaychallenge! The winner is determined by public voting...PLEASE step up and help us out!

The winner will receive performance rights to stage the amateur premiere of the hit Broadway musical, Newsies! Theatre troupes created a service project that created positive change in their hometown. Click on the link and watch our video...it's amazing!

District Launches "See Me After Class 453" Podcast

As a new way to inform and connect with our school community, both locally and around the globe, the district has launched a podcast series “See Me After Class 453.” Podcasts (i.e. audio broadcasts for internet enabled computers and smart phones) are becoming an increasingly popular format for individuals to listen to recorded content covering any number of topic areas, and Leavenworth USD 453 is using this format to feature some of the great things going on with our students, staff, and graduates.
