Public Relations

Leavenworth Unified School District 453 defines "Family Engagement in Education" as the shared responsibility of families and schools throughout the district, in which schools, families, community partners, constituent groups, and policy partners are committed to engaging and involving families in meaningful ways to actively support their children's learning and development.

USD 453's Public Relations/Family Engagement guiding objectives are as follows:

  • Ensure two-way communication between school and family
  • Make the school environment feel welcoming to parents
  • Engage families and community partners in support of academic achievement

  • School Newsletters - building-specific information sent to parents and community members
  • Weekly Folders - elementary schools send weekly folders home with important information about recent and upcoming school events
  • Channel 2 - the school district shares news and various broadcasts through the City of Leavenworth's public access channel
  • Social Media channels - you can add/follow our social media news feeds via Facebook or Twitter from the home page
