      Announcements

      • On Monday, August 9, 2021, the Leavenworth Board of Education voted 6-1 in support of the Leavenworth USD 453’s administrative recommendation to begin the 2021-22 school year with a K-12 Situational Masking policy. Additional clarification and school-specific information will be communicated to students, school families, and staff prior to the end of this week.

A brief summary of the K-12 situational masking policy for all USD 453 student attendance centers:

Masks required at all times indoors, including on buses and when students are being transported, whenever 3’ social distancing is not possible for durations of 15 minutes or longer.

Masking breaks will be provided in classrooms and school facilities whenever 3’ proximity between individuals can be maintained for extended durations.
This policy applies to any individual granted access to district facilities, including visitors and guests.

The intended outcome of the Pioneer Restart 2.0 is to keep students and staff healthy, to minimize disruptions to the teaching and learning environment, and reduce interruptions to the academic calendar.
