About Warren Middle School For the 2009-2010 school year, Warren Middle School will serve all 7th and 8th graders in the district.
Richard W. Warren Middle School opened in the fall of 2000 and was named after a long time educator and friend of Leavenworth. Each grade level team has six general education teachers and two special education teachers. Our grade level teams meet on a daily basis to discuss pedagogy relative to curricular issues, best teaching practices, technology, student concerns and use part of the time for implementation of Professional Learning Communities. The goal of our team planning approach is to ensure that students have a successful educational experience during their years at Warren.
Warren Middle School offers core classes in the subject areas of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Elective classes are offered in art, instrumental music, life tech, physical education and vocal music.
Progress reports are sent home every two to three weeks with students. Parents may also access grades, attendance and discipline reports through Parent Access. To sign up for this program, please call the office, as this is a tremendous way to oversee your student’s progress from home.
Co-curricular clubs are offered in a variety of areas after school for all students. Athletics are available for 7th and 8th grade students who meet eligibility standards established by the school and the Kansas State High School Activities Association. Our students may participate in boys or girls basketball, football, track, volleyball and wrestling.
Here at Warren, we believe that education requires the effort of students, teachers, administrators, and parents. Thus, we encourage parents to become involved in the school, and appreciate strong communication with parents. Together, we believe we can make Warren a tremendous experience for out students.
Warren Middle School classes begin at 7:50 a.m. and end at 2:50 p.m.
